We worked closely in partnership with local architects, the council and English Heritage to develop concepts for brand new structures on the pier to secure its economic future.

We have led a number of key initiatives to bring the theatre and pier offer up to date to ensure its survival and growth whilst many other theatres, both on piers and throughout the UK have been forced to close.

The Pavilion Theatre is home to the only surviving full season end of pier variety show in the world.

The Cromer Pier show attracts visitors from all over the country who often compare the quality of the show to London west end performances.

The Cromer Pier show won the dance and musical theatre award at the Norfolk arts awards and was a finalist in the Norfolk and Suffolk tourism awards.

Attracting quality acts; Bradley Walsh and Steve Hewlett developed their careers here.

Profit shares paid to stakeholders

Cromer pier and the pavilion theatre have been such a resounding success under our operation that we are now operating without public subsidy, making comer pavilion theatre one of the only publicly owned theatres to pay a profit back to our stakeholders every year.

“Went to the summer show and it was wonderful. Comedy, amazing singers, brilliant dancers. West end standards brought to Cromer.”

Continuously investing to improve our attractions and increase profits for all our stakeholders.

The theatre provides a unique and intimate experience with 500 seats.

Visitor numbers are increased during the shoulder seasons with a mix of the finest touring shows including comedy, music, dance, musicals and much more.

Recent investments have included £100,000 on an 8Metre LED video wall for the theatre. This provides impressive special effects, improving the customer experience and helps Cromer Pier Theatre keep up with West End show production values.

Although Cromer Pier is owned and maintained by North Norfolk District Council (NNDC), we have invested in new bar furniture and catering equipment to optimise trading opportunities and enhance the customer experience.

We work in partnership with a regulated Patron’s Lottery fund which provides for on on-going investments in upgrading facilities and we have invested in excess of £100,000 from these funds into the Cromer Pier theatre and its front of house offer.
