Innovative new attractions
In 2014 we raised bank funding alongside our own cash investments to develop two brand new attractions on Bournemouth Pier; RockReef and The PierZip
We developed, own and operate the UK’s first all-weather multi-activity adventure sports themed attraction.
This includes an all-weather indoor adventure activity attraction which features 28 “Clip n Climb” fun, themed indoor climbing walls, a real rock wall climbing experience, a Vertical Drop Slide, a ‘Leap of Faith’ Challenge, an indoor HighLine high ropes obstacle course and a Pier Cave which is a 65-linear metre indoor fun artificial caving experience.
We designed operational procedures based on visitor attraction principals and agreed these with manufacturers and industry bodies. This allowed us to optimise capacities, throughput and accessibility.
Adding Birthday party packages and packages for groups such as schools, youth groups and corporate events helped improve the local offer.
PierZip
The world’s first and only Pier to Beach zip line
The PierZip is the world’s first and only Pier to Beach zip line, launching from the end of Bournemouth pier, flying across the sea to land on the beach.
The addition of the zip wire to our Bournemouth Pier adventure attraction offer allowed us to flatten out seasonality from RockReef which is an indoor attraction. It also allowed us to expand our customer age demographic as it was more appealing to adults than our indoor product offer.
