The Castle Pantry Tea Rooms at Highcliffe Castle is celebrating a successful first year of its partnership with Dorset’s Independent Hospice Charity, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, reinforcing its role as a true community hub while raising valuable funds for a vital local cause.
Marking one year since the Lewis-Manning retail pop-up launched in May 2025, The Castle Pantry introduced a dedicated in-house space selling second hand trinkets, homeware, and other items on behalf of the charity. Since its introduction, the initiative has generated £1,959 for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, with every penny going directly to support patients and families across Poole, East Dorset, Purbeck, Bournemouth and West Hampshire.
Situated at the heart of Highcliffe Castle, The Castle Pantry has always been more than just a tea room, it’s a place for people to come together. This partnership builds on that ethos, turning everyday visits into meaningful contributions to the community.
The permanent pop-up shop, located at the rear of the tea rooms, features a rotating selection of donated items, giving customers the chance to discover something unique while supporting an essential service.
“This partnership is a natural extension of what The Castle Pantry stands for, community, connection, and care,” said Gui Brandao, Manager at The Castle Pantry. “We’re proud to support Lewis-Manning and create a space where our customers can give back in a simple but impactful way.”
Lewis-Manning’s presence in Highcliffe has become a valued part of the local retail scene, helping to fund expert palliative and end-of-life care through the sale of quality second-hand goods. The collaboration with The Castle Pantry has further strengthened its reach within the community.
Susan Newcombe, Commercial Director at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care said, “The Castle Pantry has created such a thoughtful and effective way for people to support Lewis-Manning in the everyday life. Every item bought from the pop-up helps fund our care for local patients and their families, so the raising over £1,900 in its first year makes an incredible difference.
“We are hugely grateful to the team for giving us this space and championing our work so warmly. Partnerships like this are vital for Lewis-Manning, not only because they raise much-needed funds, but because they help keep hospice care front and centre in the heart of the communities we serve.”
Visitors to The Castle Pantry can browse the pop-up during regular opening hours, whether stopping in for a coffee, a slice of cake, or a chance to support a worthwhile cause.
